Spot Picks: Themed Hiking Trails

Hiking made fun for everyone: These themed hiking trails turn a simple walk into an adventure for kids and adults alike. From beetle hunts and dragon quests to centipede adventures and giant explorations, each trail combines outdoor fun, hands-on activities, and interactive learning. Children can explore forests, rivers and mountains while completing playful challenges, discovering nature, and uncovering stories along the way.




Chäferliweg, Illgau

Take the cable car to St. Karl and let the beetle adventure begin! This 3 km trail invites little explorers to find seven hidden beetle children, ring a woodland glockenspiel and play at fun activity stations. The grand finale: Balmli playground with a rope bridge, fire pit and room to run wild.


Globliweg, Lenzerheide

Globi leads young explorers through the mountains of Graubünden. Along the 6 kmtrail, 13 interactive stations invite kids to balance, dam water, play with the toy snow cannon and send Globi a message. BBQ spots and restaurants add to the fun.


Gwunderwald, Davos Klosters

Set your curiosity free on 13 km of trails with eight mix-and-match stages and 30+ hands-on stations – from barefoot paths and birdsong quizzes to pinecone target throws. Kids explore nature, while adults soak in the scenery. Along the way, firepits and restaurants invite you to stop and refuel.


Wali's Zauberwald, Amden

Help wanted! At Lake Walen, dragon girl Wali and her friend Amdo are trying to find "Grosi's" crystals. Join in the search, solve fun tasks and listen to podcasts about forest animals on the way. There is a barbecue area at post 6. The trail is not suitable for pushchairs.


Zugiblubbi Erlebnisweg, Zugerberg

At various interactive posts, kids playfully immerse themselves in the story of the stolen diamonds of the "Erdmannlis" and the ghost "Zugiblubbi". Along the way, they are tasked to find the hidden letters that make up a secret code. The trail is suitable for pushchairs.

HABSBURGER WEG, Baden-Brugg


Habsburgerweg, Baden-Brugg

With the royal bird "Habi von Habsburg", families learn about the history of the noble Habsburgers, who originated in Aargau many years ago. The trail takes you to original historic sites. It is not suitable for pushchairs.


Freddy Fratzel Erlebnisweg, Winterthur

Follow the trail of the centipede Freddy Fratzel, who is looking for his favourite sock. This journey of discovery takes families into the forest of Wildberg. On the way, the children join Freddy's adventures at eleven play stations.


Erlebnisweg Riesenwald, Elm

At Ämpächli in Elm, families explore the world of giants in search of Martin. At 17 posts, they master challenges and learn interesting facts about the region, its traditions and nature. Enjoy a BBQ at the Giants' School and return to the valley either by scooter or cart.


Eibis Erlebnisweg, Oberiberg

In Oberiberg, the cheerful mascot "Eibi" guides families through the idyllic forest along the river Minster. Along the way, a variety of playgrounds and barbecue areas provide fun and entertainment. The trail is suitable for pushchairs.


Kugelbahn (Wooden Ball Run) Oberiberg, Oberiberg

Let's race! Hiking becomes child's play on this circular trail through Oberiberg. The wooden balls (CHF 2 at the machine) have to overcome numerous obstacles along the 75-metre-long wooden track.


Rohan Rothirsch, Flumserberg

Help Rohan the red deer and Spiro the woodpecker brew a magic potion for Mungg Flumsi who is suffering from "Gääähnitis". There are various places to stop for refreshments and fire pits along the way.
